Section 01

Overview

Receiptr ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you. By downloading, installing, or using the app you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this policy and our Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, you must not use the app.

This policy applies to the Receiptr mobile application available on Android and iOS. It may be updated from time to time without prior notice; the current version is always accessible inside the app and at this URL. Continued use of the app following any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

Data You Enter

Without an account: all receipt and expense data is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

With cloud backup enabled: your receipts, subscriptions, warranties, and associated data are encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest, stored on our secure servers solely to allow restoration across devices.

Section 03

Receipt Images

Receipt photos are processed on-device to extract store, amount, and date information. When cloud backup is enabled, receipt images are uploaded to and stored on our secure servers solely to allow them to be restored if you sign in on a new device.

You may request a complete export of your data, including images, by contacting us at support@alsystems.app. We will acknowledge your request within 5 business days and fulfil it within 30 days. On account deletion, all uploaded images are permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.

Device & Usage Data

We collect limited technical information to identify and fix bugs, measure app stability, and understand which features are most valuable:

This data is processed by trusted third-party service providers (including Firebase Crashlytics by Google) under strict data-processing agreements and is not linked to your identity or your financial data.

Section 05

Location Data

Receiptr does not collect, request, or use your device location in any form. No location permissions are requested and no location data is transmitted to our servers.

Section 06

Cloud Backup

Cloud backup is optional and requires a paid account. When enabled, your receipts, subscriptions, and images are encrypted and stored on our servers. You can disable cloud backup, export your data, or delete your account at any time. See Section 8 (Your Rights) for how to do so.

Section 07

Data Retention

Local data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Cloud-backed data is retained for as long as your account is active. Following an account-deletion request, all personal data is permanently and irreversibly removed from our servers within 30 days. Anonymised, aggregated analytics data that cannot identify you may be retained beyond this period for service-improvement purposes.

To exercise any of the above rights, submit a written request to support@alsystems.app. All requests will be acknowledged within 5 business days and fulfilled within 30 days.

Third-Party Service Providers

We use third-party service providers to support app functionality, including:

These providers act as data processors on our behalf, are contractually bound to handle data securely, and may not use your data for their own purposes. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party.

Security

All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard TLS. Stored cloud data is encrypted at rest using AES-256. We implement access controls and periodic security reviews to protect against unauthorised access, disclosure, or loss. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; you use the app at your own risk.

Children

Receiptr is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately at support@alsystems.app.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time without prior notice. Changes take effect as soon as the updated policy is published at this URL and within the app. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
